Huka Falls is a famous waterfall located near Taupo on the North Island of New Zealand. It is known for its stunning blue-green water and powerful flow, with an average of 220,000 liters of water per second rushing over the falls. The waterfall is formed by the Waikato River, which narrows to just 15 meters before plummeting over a 11-meter drop, creating a dramatic and impressive sight. The name "Huka" is Maori for foam, which is fitting given the churning, foamy water that cascades over the falls. Huka Falls is a popular tourist attraction and there are several viewing platforms and walking tracks that offer visitors the chance to get up close to the waterfall and take in its beauty. It is also a popular spot for jet boating and white-water rafting, as the fast-flowing water provides an exhilarating experience for thrill-seekers.
