    • Actually, my husband was about the 2nd or 3rd person there as he was working just a couple of miles away. He said they heard the plane coming down, saw the pillow of black smoke and went right over, I guess with hopes of helping anyone. They had to drive around pieces of the plane that lay on Skyline Road leading up to the site, then actually drove right up to the edge of the shown crater- there was simply "nothing". Papers drifting in the wind and then a State trooper. He and his friend then left as it was obvious there was nothing he would be able to do. Then the fire companies began to arrive.
