    • This KC-97L (630) was an Ohio ANG Tanker when it was named "Zeppelinheim" or if I remember right "City of Zeppelinheim" from the "Operation Creek Party" days at Rhein Main AB in Germany. Zeppelinheim is a small village where the Zeppelin Crews and Workers use to live in the 1930's which is next to Rheim Main AB/Frankfort Airport. When the Ohio Air Guard converted to other aircraft we (136th Air Refueling Wing of the Texas Air National Guard in Dallas) recieved this aircraft as we were also flying KC-97L's and had been for quite a few years. We flew this aircraft until either 1977 or 78 when we converted to C-130 Aircraft. A Dallas crew flew the plane to the Air Force Museum at Wright Pat where it was changed back into Ohio markings where it can still be seen today. If you look closely now you can still see where they marked out the Texas Air Guard markings on the aircraft........You have some very good pictures, I have lots of KC-97L pictures and lots of other aircraft & military pictures on my webshots site so when you have time, take a look.....Again, you have a very nice collection of pictures......Bill Strouse AFChief38@aol.com
