  • The paratrooper helmet was just the standard helmet minus the "coal skuttle" overhang on the back of the helmet. I always found it interesting too that German paratroopers were not soldiers...they were airmen from the Air Force (Luftwaffe). These guys seem to be carrying the standard issue K98k Mauser. Later in the War, the paratroopers got their own semi-auto rifle.
