This guidon was carried by Light Battery F, 5th Artillery Regiment during a period of considerable action at the turn of the 19th Century. Known as Reilly's Battery after its commander Captain Henry J. Reilly, this battery saw substantial action in the Caribbean and Far East at the turn of the 19th Century. Reilly's Battery fought in Cuba during the Spanish-American war in 1898, the Philippines Insurrection in 1899 and then in the Boxer Rebellion in China during 1900.
