typical eastern front photo, totally barbaric battles.

I've noticed some of the German dead in this series are barefoot. And, the feet look clean. Maybe boots were in short supply? Look at the clean barefeet of the dead German in the extreme upper left of this photo.

Took a closer look at the photo. The dead German in the foreground is barefoot as well...clean bare feet. I also noticed he isn't a soldier, but an airman in the Luftwaffe (Air Force).

Germans did exactly the same to the Soviet dead at Stalingrad leaving them virtually naked. They also used to take every slice of bread they could find on dead Soviet soldiers. There was nobody to take those pictures... What goes around comes around...

They might have gotten caught with their pants down and had just enough time to run out before getting killed by the blast. Had the Soviets robbed them, they would have probably stripped them naked.

MECtb, you don't have to worry, most people are surely aware of that. It is not difficult to understand that there were horrors on both sides, even if nobody points it out.
