Album Info:
(02948) 9-29-2007 Native Village (Dena'ina Athabascan) of Eklutna, Alaska. A mix of Russian Orthodox and native funeral practices, the spirit houses are placed over a deceased person's grave for the purpose of giving a new home to the soul of the deceased. They are painted in the traditional colors of the deceased's family, and are often quite colorful.

Mankind seems to have so many versions of their religious beliefs but one common bond in the afterlife seems to be universal, this tradition is so unique and meaningful
