MECTb, these are Soviet POW’s. Russians were the ethnic majority of the USSR. The subject of the photo is an asiatic Soviet soldier; he is not a Russian.

There are many Russians who have Asian facial features. Taking pictures of Asian looking POW was a favorite pastime of the Goebbels's propaganda photographers. They took almost a perverted pleasure in doing that to emphasize their own superiority complex. The pure Aryan, Germanic, blond , blue-eyed supermen soon learn their respect for the Russian soldiers (many of them with Asian features) at Stalingrad when they go to the Soviet POW camps in droves.
