I have no idea who these men may be, nor why they're in Hong Kong. I do know that my grandmother (Ella Wallace) was given three unset fire opals by a sea captain who'd gone to Australia and was a friend or relative of the family. There may have been a connection to Smith & Rhuland shipyard in Lunenburg. I will try to find out more particulars, as Mom left 100 pages pf personal notes that I'm still reading. I have the ring with those opals set in it.
