Album Info:
This is a Chinese made copy of the German Krupp 4-pdr. Mountain Gun introduced in the 1860s. It was captured bye Captain Reilly's Light Battery F, 5th Artillery Regiment during their service in China during the Boxer Rebellion in 1900. The Chinese characters on the barrel translate as "Made in the King-Ling Arsenal in the 21st year of the Emperor Guangux" which was 1896. The gun was originally painted a dark green. In the 1930s the artillery unit that had it thought it would look nice in "artillery colors" of red and gold.
