Album Info:
Daniel King of Germantown, Pennsylvania made two versions of this light brass howitzer. They fired a three pound solid shot or an explosive shell. King howitzers fired the opening shots of the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1793, which ended Indian resistance in the Northwest Territory. The King howitzer and its carriage could be carried by a pack horse or a mule and was a perfect weapon on the rugged frontier.
