My Paternal grandfater landed & fought on Iwo Jima with the USMC. Man, the stories he tells from that battle are amazing. I love looking at his old USMC medals & Jap issue guns that he brough back from the war & such. The fact that he along with my Maternal grandfather both fought for our freedom in WWII in different theaters are the reason I respect & admire them strongly today. Great shot!!!!!!

Congratulations on being selected POD. Most fitting to celebrate & remember our nation's veterans. Both my Mother & Father were in WWII, my Brother & Boyfriend are Vietnam Vets & my Nephew served 4 times in Iraq. I am fortunate that all came home safe & whole. This wall memmorial mural is wonderful as are the rocks also contained in this album. This whole album should have been featured as well as the POTD.
