Album Info:

This was the standard divisional field artillery howitzer of the German Army in World War II. Designed and built by Rheinmetall, it was the equivalent of the U.S. M2A1 105 mm Howitzer. The Light Field Howitzer (L.F.H.) 18 (M) was an improved model fitted with a double baffle muzzle break which allowed it to fire more powerful ammunition and thus achieve greater range. It featured light alloy wheels of the fluted disk type with solid rubber tires. Although the legendary German 88 mm is more famous, the L.H.F. 18 (M) was far more lethal as an in-direct fire piece.
