The emblems on the ribbon denote a Combatant, the Austrian award was possibly awarded to a Prussian Mountain soldier for service in the Tyrol against the Italians, The Legion of Honour medal was an unofficial award given to Prussian veterans ( during and just after the short lived Weimar Republic period) who received no official recognition of WW1 service, until the 1934 creation of the Hindenberg Honour Crosses during the start of the III Reich.
