June 2005. What a shame that the proper Coal post can't be re-instated from down the towpath about 1 km away at Stockers Lock ! This granite monstrosity marks the border between Herts/Middx on the Grand Union canal at OS grid ref TQ047 932. Badly inscribed, badly worn. Has a benchmark inscribed.
