Album Info:

ETCHED SCARS *** No one said, "Today I'll die!" Stunned beyond words, we huddled, we cried! Vile acts hit across our land, As horror slammed into our homeland. Hypnotic, we watched the sky, Not thinking of saying last goodbyes; Not one of us seemed to know Who, why or what had dealt this deathblow. We did not know beforehand Accident, or something evil planned; Scenes splayed cross the small screen The shock, the faces, the silent screams. . Fiery explosions, sickly Tumbling bodies, falling debris; Ghostly faces, those blank eyes Billowing smoke darkened the blue skies. Oh, the innocent dying! Shocked America disbelieving, What madness has brought on this, Sick minds with false kiss, slither and hiss? Great sorrow touched the worldwide. Deep keening of grief shared side by side; Strangers clinging to strangers, Become one under threats and dangers. . The smoke has faded away, But there is hardly a passing day That horror invades our minds, our memories flash back to rewind. Scars etched in our minds and souls, the losses and hurts, nothing consoles. The buildings, the grounds hallow, now memorials of fallen heroes, Who were placed not by their choice to die as one with a freedom's voice Take the hand, play the cards so fly on rainbow wings, o'er ground zero. *** Eugena S Williams 9/11/08
