Though there are several photos, including post cards, of the YMCA building at 644 Ohio Street taken after 1900, there are not many taken when it was still a residence. It was built by Ezra Smith, who owned the largest distillery in the city, between 1845 and 1850 on the lot bought from Curtis Gilbert on October 7, 1845.
