First Grade Card

Album Info:
My first Report Card and my first teacher. In 1996, at my mother's 80th Birthday party, I was at a table with Lois Wells Anthony and her husband. This was the first time I'd seen her since 1943, although my mother had kept in contact with her. Someone remarked that "she couldn't possibly have been my first grade teacher!" as she didn't look old enough. I then asked her if it was her first year teaching, she said it was her second and that she had graduated from high-school two years before. She attended my 70th birthday party and I have seen her twice since at my mother's home in North Platte, Nebr.

I even see some A+ 's here! .... the quote of the card is also amazing! oh, if we could go back .... in time .. to simpler days ... when graduating from high school meant you were smart enuf to teach others .... nowdays it might not be tho ... ??

I'm an Emerson fan, so I was excited to find a quote on the report card!
