l/r: MARGARET (PEGGY) BOURGEOIS-DUCHARME (mother), Sr. Gertrude, MARIANNE TURMEL-BOURGEOIS (maternal grandmother). I never did become accustomed to that name, especially since the Lithuanian nuns called me Sister Hertrude with their native accent. It was so harsh sounding.

Ms. Muriel, thank you for posting your photos and telling your story. I enjoyed it so much. I am Catholic and attended Parocial schools for 12 years. I was taught under the Sisters of St. Joseph (Phil., Pa), and the Sisters of the Holy Cross. I still correspond with my second grade teacher, Sr. Eileen Russell. I believe your story tells that you left the noviate. Is that correct? I wonder how you are doing now. I hope you and yours are well and God's blessings to you. Thank you again.
