Album Info:
IJssel Line: the Dutch didn't only constructed fortifications before WW II. During the fifties they built a new line of defense. It consisted of three flootable barrages that could block three rivers. This raised the water level and created flowing inundations that were very difficult to cross. Each barrage was defended by AA artillery and tank turrets. This is the turret of a Sherman Firefly that was restored recently. For more photos please visit www.fortweb.net
