The ancestor of the ALICE TREMBLAY's mother, CATHERINE COTE, was JEAN COSTE/COTTE/COTTEZ/COTE, whose name went through many transformations, as you can see. JEAN's place of birth is unknown. It is documented, though, that JEAN arrived in Nouvelle-France in 1635.07.20 in Quebec. He obtained a concession of land in Beauport, QC from sieur Giffard. In 1635.11.17 he married ANNE MARTIN, the d/o Galeran Martin, a widower living in Beauport, QC at the time. The couple had 8 children, 7 of whom married
