Album Info:

The Berryman family home-site in King George, Co. VA. This is the third "White Hall" and was rebuilt ca. 1849. The first "White Hall" was "on the flats" close to Upper Machodoc Creek and was "less healthy", at this site, the second "White Hall" was built ca. 1734 and it burned ca. 1845. This home is said to have been built using the second home's foundation and chimneys. It is possible no one "named" Berryman lived in this third house. The property was "out of the family" by about 1860.

  • Helps when doing genealogy if the family stays reasonably rooted!

  • What a gorgeous homesite. Some of my ancestors on mother's paternal side came from Bath County, VA, along the Cowpasture River.
