Album Info:
Official government land lot divisions of the Upper St. Lawrence region of Quebec, CANADA. In 1791, the colony was organized into two provinces, Lower and Upper Canada, roughly corresponding to modern southern Quebec and Ontario. In 1840, the two provinces were re-united to form Canada East and Canada West; therefore, when it's mentioned that a person was contracted to work out West, Ontario can be presumed to be the usual direction taken. In 1867, the provinces were again separated.
