My 4th great grandparents Benjamin and Ann (Bryan) Berryman bought land from Mary Brinegar in 1784. The John Berryman is probably his brother who married Elizabeth Newton Berryman (dau of Major William & Rebecca Berryman). John & Elizabeth apparently returned to Fauquier Co., VA (ca. 1792). Shady Grove is now Advance. The Timber Ridge Church was near the farm of Benjamin & Ann's son Jelson & Sarah (Bryan) Berryman. Sarah was a dau. of Battaley Bryan, Ann's brother. A part of a larger map.
