A lovely walk through history, Sam. Thank you so much for walking with me through the Chickasaw Recreation Area in Oklahoma. Oh, we can fry anything, like you said. The annual State Fair of Texas in Dallas has a contest before the fair opens every year for the best new fried food entries - things like you said, fried twinkies, something called fried butter (sounds awful to me). The last time I was there a couple of years ago I tried the fried bacon and it was great. It was real thick and on a stick. I find it odd that some people don't know what a fried pie is. Here they are still sold commercially in the grocery stores. I enjoyed your visit, and I enjoyed seeing this walk through Confederate history. ..Betty

Hello dear Sam, thank you very much for your very interesting and instructive message, and your nice comments on my snowstorm album, warmest appreciated. It was a very unusual weather, so rare and beautiful! During 4 days, impossible to go to work in the city, the road of the village was too much slippery and dangerous, and we have not a suitable equipement in the South! It was great to wander in the village and the hills, magnificently covered by this white coat! My uncle who have more than 80 years old said he have never seen so many snow on his olive-growe and orchards, it was incredible. Now, the snow is melt, all is normal. I enjoyed a lot look at this fantastic album, this is a great lesson of history through your beautiful shots. I loved especially the magnificent statues, which look like almost alive, so moving. This is also a great idea to photograph cemetery, we learn a lot from old tombstones... It was a great travel in past time. Now, I will look at on GoogleEarth where is exactly this beautiful and historic city, and try to learn more about it. Thanks for sharing with us this wonderful tribute. Dear Sam, I wish you a fantastic weekend and all the best, warm regards, your friend Genevieve

Dear Sam, are you living in Indiana State ? If yes, i don't know why there are so many confederate tombs in this state. I thought the principal battles took place in the south-east states in USA during the Secession-War ! Best regards. Martial
