Nice hobby - very interesting - We have a round barn that housed a champion race horse "Spokane" in Twin Bridges. If I ever slow down - I'll try this summer and take a few shots of it for you. Deanie

What an unusual album; I've never before come across this type of barn. Presumably many get converted into family homes?

Nice photos of these very old barns. I'm not sure I've even seen a round barn before, or maybe I have and just didn't realize that they are pretty much history now, so didn't pay attention.

For a long time I have been working on a series called "Aging Wisconsin". There a two round barns in the area and I haven't photographed them. Thanks for reminding me that is something I should do. Just a week ago I saw the large barn with the logo on the roof when I was photographing a wolf pack at Battle Ground. Great photographs, interesting structure shots, and thanks for making a historical record.

Hi Darrell, good to see this round barns album featured today. I am not familier with them & look's as if some in your photos to have been converted to other uses. I have viewed this album before but left my message on your other barns album. Congratulations on the feature. PS have you seen my UK barns album, quite different to USA ones, hope to add a few new ones soon. Over here in our small Island barns are rapidly being converted to homes if they are not protected by listed building status. Eric

Hi Darrell, another nice album you've put together here. There is no round barns here in Shetland, just your plain edged ones. Not sure if I told you before, but I'm going on a cruise in October, stopping off in France, Spain and Portugal, so hope to get a good few photos then. All the best, George

Hi Darrell, Returning your visit to my web site ( Ean Aw from down under NZ.) Thank you. You too are a keen cameraman. Flowers, & old buildings. Love the quaint round barns. Clever use of sunset for your message board. Might copy your idea. Am at present using Nikon 959. Am itching to get hold of a digital SLR like Canon EOS. More control esp. focusing & more grunt in telephoto & wide angle lens. Ciao. Ean from NewZealand 25/11/03

The round barns from your area are very unique and beautiful in style. They seem to be well maintained too. What nationality of people settled and built thier farms in KY?

I am honored to be the first to compliment you on this album. I especially like the historic photographs of the round white barn with horizontal siding. I have several photographs of the same barn in my own Webshots barn albums. It is most interesting for me to see that there was a large rectangular barn sitting next to it at one time. I sense that you are from Indiana. Is that so? I am origionally from West Lafayette, Indiana and now live in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I try to get to Indiana and Ohio on barn searching trips as often as my time permits. Both states have fantastic barns to photograph, but, unfortunately, they are beginning to dissappear from our rural scene. Thanks for helping to record them while they are still with us to enjoy. They are part of our nation's history. All of your photographs are great and I will check back as you (hopefully) add more. Thanks for sharing. Bill Cable (heyburn3)
