My Grandparents had a small farm outside of town,I beleive that the neighbors name was Yates, this was in the early 40's.(during WW2)It had a small spring down by a creek where we got water, and one large walnut tree on the lane to the house, your photograph,s of Bismarck bring back what little memories,I have of the town.I do remember a feed store,a drugstore?that served icecream cones that had two tops(you could get a differant flavor on each side).I also seem to remember a large rock(or block)building that may have been a hotel? Thank you for posting the photographs. Ray Sanders

The pictures in this album are truely amazing! I am a Senior at Bismarck High School and have been raised in Bismarck my whole life! We are doing a presentation at our graduations and these photos will assist us greatly! Do you have copyright to these photos, and if so, will you allow us to use them? Thanks for your time.

My Dad was born and raised in Bismarck, MO and still lives there today...he will enjoy seeing these pictures. Can you tell me the time frame that they were taken?

We appreciate the chance to see some of these old photos of Bismarck, Bonne Terre, and Farmington. My wife was born in Bonne Terre. Her grandfather was the head of the RR crew that built the RR from Ste. Genevieve to Bismarck (at least that is the family story) Phillip (Pop) Eydmann. Story says he and the crew were jailed for a night or two in Ste. Genevieve as the town did not want the RR going through it. I have a picture of a bridge built by this RR crew and of family pride. It is near the road between Ste. Gen and Farmington. Her dad was born in Fredricktown, 1915 and raised in Flat River. Thanks again. Gary Ramthun Thornton, Co
