Someone asked about the first name for Mr. Wright in the Alva Photos. Sorry, it doesn't have a first name. As for if C-L-Y-D is right on the Woode or Wadde photo, it looks like its either C-L-Y-D or O-L-Y-D . There is one other caption. Its says its "Ollie's girlfriend". Ollie was Joe & Eileen Cummings grandmother, Olive Modesta Cunningham Cummings. She was the daughter of William Franklin Cunningham. They came to Alva at the opening of the Cherokee Strip and remained there until the 1920's when they left and came to Kansas. To those of you who inquired about the spelling on the back of the pictures. Our aunt wrote on the back of them 30 years ago as our Grandma told who they were. We have no idea if the spelling is right. Its just what we could see and the only tip we have as to who they might be. If you recognize any of these photos and need more information, CONTACT - Joe & Eileen Cummings at ecummins@hit.net

The gentlemen has a last name of "Ledgerwood& quot; and was a friend of Charles Cummings. The Lady --has written Leora Denio and was also noted as a friend of Olive Cummings. Does anyone have heritage from this George Davis? The Davis Studio was called West Side Davis Studio. Don't know what year the Hobart Oil Mill was taken, but it says it was the Hobart Oil Mill. As to the Beegle Baby... This was a rather unusual name written on the back, but maybe some of you recognize the name.

1905 Henry Newton Cummings Homestead -- The photographer, Charles Cummings of Alva, was a son of Henry Newton Cummings who homesteaded North of Alva. The photo is taken of some of the family in front of the Henry Newton Cummings homestead. Many were very musical and you can see the musical instruments in their hands. Notice the framed house appears to be two sections--a dog trot style with the kitchen to the back. There is an orchard to the left of the home.
