Album Description:

The initial photos from inside the tanker were about 1966 before the buff was camofaged while flying out of Minot ND. The profile photos of refueling were conducted on missions out of Guam in June 1973. The last two are not mine, but of 2006-7.

  • I'm a retired Navy Chief Air Traffic Controller who had a chance, many years ago while I was stationed at NAS New Orleans, to go flying in a KC135 while it was on a training flight to refuel Louisiana Air National Guard F4s. I found it quite interesting to lie on my belly and watch the boom operator as the F4 slid up from below to tank. I would go again in a heartbeat. I invite you to check out my aviation album.

  • Hi Gary. Thanks so much for your comments on my AeroMotor windmill photo. I am also an avaitaion buff of sorts. I used to fly many years ago until the price of gasoline became too prohibitive. But I still love taking photos of airplanes and love watching them. I once had the thrill of being in a C-130 while doing an air refueling. That was an unforgettable experience. Thanks again for your comments. Hope you have a great week! Jon
