  • I'm glad to see most of the plants survived your cold spell, there's nothing good about freezing weather when you have fruit trees. Had to chuckle about the title, though - our weather started out at -4 F today and warmed up to a balmy 18.

  • The frost in Florida, it is inconceivable to me. But you wanted to have a little winter, as in the north, dear Barbara .. Now have you had him. Here in Europe, there is currently much too warm for the season ..:-( The weather is crazy, we humans are to blame .. Have a nice weekend. I come back to you times over ..Kind Regards ..Sitt

  • While we use to have this kind of weather in DK, you seems to have it in stead, very surpricingly for us up in north Scandinavia.. Isn't that very unusual in Florida? Seems the world/globe has turned half way round while we were sleeping our day away. It must have something to do with the pollution and green house effect. The pictures are beautyful no matter and you have done a very unique work with this album. Thanks for your visit at my fall album. Take care Barbara. Per Bjarne..

  • Snow flurries were reported along the Daytona Beach coastline, the first in the sunshine state since 2006, while freeze warnings were issued along the Florida Big Bend and Panhandle. Most citrus trees are located in Central and South Florida where temperatures hovered around the freezing mark. Crops are usually ruined after being exposed to -2 C weather for four hours. The freezing temperatures have citrus growers scrambling to harvest crops and protect plants by spraying them with water that freezes, insulating the temperature at 0 C. Minor damage was reported overnight; however, citrus officials said that the state's groves escaped major losses because temperatures failed to reach expected lows.
