Good grief Jill, i know you said it was bad in your text message, but i didn't expect it to be that bad!! Hope the water level has gone down now & that we don't have much more heavy rain:-( Angie.

I though global warming was wet winters and hot, dry summers. Now if you could just get things sorted out before we go to Whitby in two weeks, I'll be obliged. Best wishes, Dave.

It has been absolutely dreadful, just watched the news tonight!! (Poor bloke stuck down the drain couldn't be rescued!) I hope this is not a portent of things to come in the next few decades, but sadly I think it might be. Take care Jill.

According to the news tonight we have had 6 weeks rain in 24 hours and it's still raining although not as torrential as it was.

Blimey (as JP would say!). That golf course is going to take a bit of drying out, isn't it. I had to find an alternative way into my village this evening as one of the roads in was flooded. Never known that to happen before. Hope the rain stops soon ... Jo

Oh, you are lucky Jill! Nothing so exciting ever happens here - I am envious. John

There has been torrential rain intermittantly for the past few days and continuously all day today, the 25th June. On Saturday my sloping drive turned into a river and flooded the garage. This has been solved but the surrounding land is saturated and the rain shows no sign of stopping. Luckily I am uphill from the river Humber which being a very wide river can presumably absorb a lot of water before bursting it's banks.
