Oyiza Adaba - covering the National Democratic Institute’s Observer team which monitored process of the 2007 elections in Nigeria. Former U.S Secretary of State Madeline Albright, who led the team, met with heads of local media organizations to get a first hand account of the electoral process. The team continued with the monitoring activities in Lugbe, a sattelite town just outside Abuja where voting was at a virtual standstill due to the late arrival of materials and ballot boxes. The 300 voters registered at the poling station were seen lingering impatiently, while some went back and forth from their homes, monitoring the arrival of the materials intermitently.
