  • Leon, it's good to see the "lost" album. We'll be browsing it shortly. This is so important to have and show on WebShots. I'm sending it to Homer. Tibby

  • Sending out boys .. the youngest and brightest ... ours should understand ... but are too pampered .... by capitalism ... you know what I mean ... those photos I sent you .. he never would talk about it ... not ever ... even though we had his stuff as playthings ...

  • Leon, what a great documentary. It's so important for "normal" folks to see that the guys being sent out were exactly that: just guys. Not mindless (or worse) "numbers". I'm glad I missed the first-hand experience of this part of history - and even gladder that things like this album help put (and keep) things in perspective - other than the "you went there - so I hate you, period" perspective of Hollywood. (sorry for the political angle here, normally not my kind of "thing")

  • Lost album. Certainly not lost in memory ! Although it should never have existed as a reality. In memory to all those....who didnt make it, but even more so, for those of you....who did ! Siw.

  • I can find no words to express what I am feeling right now. I have both cried and laughed while viewing this album. I am an American, and until now have not observed much at all of the experiences of men from other nations, but I see no difference. I love these men as much. I mourn their loss...of mates and of innocence. I am grateful for their sacrifices. Thank you for sharing

  • Leon, this is such a moving album. The camaraderie shared by those of us that have served in the military services throughout the world can never be explained to or replicated by those who haven't. Your albums on Vietnam give the briefest of glimpses of the horrors of war but the shining light throughout is the trust, respect, teamwork, friendship and humour shared between the few to whom so much is owed by the many.

  • Powerful, evocative, eloquent. A time it was, and what a time it was. A time of innocence...soon lost. What these pictures show is not so much the horror or the carnage of combat, but the fact that wars are fought by flesh and blood people, with wives, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, homes somewhere. Next time we have a war, we should keep the soldiers at home and send the politicians, diplomats, warmongers and weapon makers into the field. That way, when the fighting's done, we'll still have the cream of our youth at home.

  • Leo, I see you have returned... I have left an explanation on Brian's video clip as he has been getting a lot of questions about it. http://news.webshots.com/album/557769831NUCrVE would you like to go read and check it, titles, details of book etc please. I wanted to link it to your James Blundell shots of us together here as well but I see you have deleted them yet again ..grrr.
