Dear Roberto. This album is a very emotion to me. I never saw my grandparents, they wher sent to the east from Austria and never came back, as a great part of my family. My parents came to Israel unligaly with no visa on 1936 and I was born at 1940. They where wise enough to understand that Europe is going to a big catastrophe. ( The ironical think is that my father joined the British army at 1940 and few months later he was captured by the Germans at CALAMATA Greece and became a P O W for 5 years.....Now as I"m a grandfather myself I can fill better the lack of grandparents at my childhood......Thank you very mich my friend for this album. You are a mensh ( A good man in Yidish - The Jewish language.) And belive me it is a great compliment. RAN A big hug - RAN

Hi Roberto, yesterday we marked Yom Hashoa in Israel and I must say that it reminded me that you created that important album 2 months ago. I still appreciate it very much! Yair.

Hello Roberto, your images are only a very few, but they say much more than hundreds others. You are an excellent photographer. I ask myself why you called it by the Hebrew name 'Shoah' and not as usual Holocaust. Do you have a Hebrew history, too? Thank you very much for taking the time to look at my picture "seeds of a thistle flying away" featured a week ago as POTD on Webshots front page. Pictures like this are not the usual and it surprises me very much that so many people like yourself were touched by it. Thanks for that. You made my day! - Galit

Fascinating imagery and a lovely tribute, Roberto! While I lived in Munich, in my travels I visited Dachau, and cannot believe I didn't take my camera that day. The tour of the concentration camps and viewing the monochromatic live video footage restricted to those over the age of 12 due to it's graphic imagery, reduced me to trembling tears. The people, the families and residents of the lovely and charming city of Dachau are wonderful and gracious and work hard to overcome the association of the horror of those events, and there are many museums and cultural sites there as well. I do enjoy your commentary and your beautiful images! Sharon....A link for more info on the Dachau site is here ~ http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/article.php?lang=en&ModuleId=10005214

Simonetta

When my son was in high school he visited either Auschwitz or Dachau, I can't remember which one, and it was quite the somber experience for him.

Mi rendo conto che non riesco a parlare delle foto, ma dell'emozione che mi hanno suscitato. Grazie della tua testimonianza. Speriamo che un altro mondo sia davvero possibile... Paola
