Oh I found the Munich Album! Sorry I missed it before, I think I got sidetracked by your other beautiful albums. I had such a great laugh and chuckle today when I re-read some of the comments in the w/s rtw album, especially yours though in the Hofbraeuhaus. I bet you left quite some tourists gasping for air when you showed up in that sequin bustier, the black mini skirt and the thigh high boots! They may have even forgotten to eat and drink, LOL. I found it really amusing that of all things so remembered so well was the putzfrau in the toilet, I am very proud you remembered to tip her too! You have a great and special memory! I hope to go back to Munich this summer when I visit my folk in germany, it's about a 4hrs drive from where we live and just my most favourite area of Germany! So now let me go snoopin' in your Munich album a bit. Cheers. marita

Hello Steve, on your question of my album 'USAREUR Farewell Ceremony'.... it is in the album commentary and Tags. The farewell ceremony was held in Muenchen Deutschland. I worked as the USMCA DOL PBO SSSC Manager at McGraw Kaserne. The Kaserne and the American Military and Civilian housing is beautiful prime real estate in Fasangarten and was being returned to the city of Munich. We reenacted the end of WWII. We procured an authentic jeep from the museum in Frankfurt, as well as Shawn's WWII uniform and weapons. He was a Captain in the US Army at the time, his position was DPTMS, so he was chosen to be escorted by Franz onto the Marienplatz to meet the Lord Mayor Kronawitter and Lieutenant Colonel Richard Manupella in the reenactment, as well as many other officials and dignitaries for the ceremonies. I was on stage photographing the event along with AFN and several German networks. There were thousands of Germans and Americans at this event. There was a German band on one side of the stage and the American military band on the other. And there were many speeches. There were many tears and much laughter and cheers. It was wonderful! After the ceremony I descended the stage and sat in the jeep with Shawn as we were interviewed by the television crews, and for photo ops. God knows how many thousands of people in the world have a photo of me on stage and in that jeep!! ;) I have always wished I could find someone in the world to provide me with a few copies!! Afterward there was a wonderful private dinner with the officials and dignitaries, which was delicious, and another ceremony. My personal invitation is in the album. It was a wonderful day! Many people told me their stories of how the war affected them and their families for many Germans are very pro American and did not want to see the military withdraw. The Europe wide RIF (Reduction in Force) occurred not long after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the German Reunification and it affected many lives. It was an historic time to be living in Europe!
