Album Description:

Between July & September, Tucson experiences a "Monsoon Season". The last couple of years have seen weak monsoons; however, this year has been extremely heavy so far. Washes cross streets & streets are "runoffs" so it can be dangerous to drive around.

  • Wow, Annie, these are fabulous shots. Wouldn't you know we were out of town last year during this storm. I've gotten some good shots this year, but none with as much water as in your shots. We live just north of the Rillito, so we always like to go down there after a storm and watch the river run. We had an intense storm yesterday and the washes in our neighborhood were several feet deep in water. I hope you got some rain at your house too. This has been a very active monsoon so far, and I love it! Thanks for the birthday greetings! Carole
