Emily; Check out the site for the Marine Corps University. Many of the photos here are from the National Archives and there is also an official Marine Corps site.

The picture of VNF-323 aboard USS Badoeng Strait caught my attention. It was a CVE (AKA - Baby Flattop) I served on the 83 but am a email friend of a sailor that served aboard the Bodoeng Strait who lives here in the San Antonio area.
