  • Hello Lloyd, I am writing for a good friend of mine who is not a computer person. His name is Jim Hannon who served at Kimpo for a year and shipped out in July 1953. I'm sure he will enjoy looking at your photos when I bring my laptop to show him. Jim was a member of the crash crew and recalls a very bad crash of an F 86 which couldn't lift off and careened into a crew of engineers who were doing work at the end of the runway, killing about 14 men. I have searched all over and could not come up with anything relating to this crash, only that an F 86 crashed on take off June 3, 1953 at Kimpo. If you, or anybody else, have any resources to this crash, or, any other info, Jim would sure appreciate it as he has had a 53 year vivid memory of that accident. Great pictures, Alan

  • Like Jess Richey, I also recognized TSR 624 the T33 pictured at K14. I hopped a ride in it in Jan of '53. There are two good pictures of it on my web site: http://www.rjvs.com/korea/gallery/album02/bob_jet

  • I was looking at the picture of the houseboy, kim, and I'm almost positive he was our house boy from Sept. 53 on. Our tent had a sign on it and it read Kimpo Asylum Inmates and listed six names on it: Jarvis, Welty, hal, Monson, Tex and Woody. I"ll have to check my photos and see if it matches. Joe
