You may be near Castle Rising? I have just spent a long time looking for an image of Castle Rising almshouses, also known as Trinity Hospital. I have a book about painting from photographs in which the author has painted a picture mainly of the road and trees while ignoring what looks like --from an angled side view--wonderful chimneys--octagonal in shape? I gather this building is opposite the church and has plenty of history. Founded by the Earl of Northampton it housed 6 single women who on special days wore witches hats! (see Francis Frith) Is ther any chance you may have photographed this building? I am not interested in a wonderful photograph --just what the building is actually like.

Hi Eric, Congratulations on your beautiful and historic featured album! I love ancient architecture and your album is replete with it. I particularly like your #15 "Castle Rising Church". I especially like the partial framing by the vegetation and the perspective you selected which gives the church added depth and accentuates those wonderful angles. Greetings from Florida, Paul.

Hello Eric and it's been great to see more photos from the Old Country. Norfolk is where my wife's family originated so she was greatly interested in looking at this album of yours. I've made a note in my book to come back for a longer viewing of your albums early in the new year. Meantime many thanks for your comments on my Fabulous Beaches feature album today and I knew nothing about it until our friend Ken told me while we were chatting in MSN. Now I'm trying to keep up with the GB's as they come in because it's almost bedtime here. Pity you can't persuade your wife to come out but I agree that it's a heck of a long flight and we wouldn't be too keen to do it any more. Thanks again and all best wishes for 2006, Peter

Hello Eric, this is a lovely album and I thought I'd start with this one as one of the 3 taken within 5 miles of your home simply because it seems we both have a common interest in building and architecture.I can't say I've been up your way very often and certainly not for years but I like to look at the local architecture to get a good insight to the beauty of an area.Sandringham is one that we all should recognise instantly and you captured it beautifully, love the old shooting brakes in the museum, they don't make em like that now do they, lol.,I also like the fact that you captured structures rather than purely houses or architecture per say.A lovely album and I'll be back to view the other two in this series very soon,I like to take my time and view each photo at length. Many thanks for your kind comment on my D-I-Y album,I agree,it all looks easy on TV programmes but there again we don't get to have a second take every time a job doesn't fall into place immediately,Regards,Rod.

I used to live in UK on the green belt on the edge of Bradford, we could see Pudsy and Leeds in the distance. English moors are just so unique. I have been trying to work out just where you live. We had a holiday on the NOrfolk Broads when we lived there many years ago. We migrated to Australia in teh '60's and the memeory is vague now. You have some great photos, Love seeeing a country through someones elses eyes. Photography is a great hobby and so much easier to share thanks to webshots. Hi Eric, welcome back to the land of living, now your roaming about is finished for a couple of weeks or so, I have had another look at this splendid album, and I agree with Jayne feature material but sadly our part of the world seems to have been forgotten. Not to worry, life will go on without a feature. I am looking forward to all the new pics from your latest travels. Mind you all the new stuff I have put on since 8th of Nov I have had no viewing figures for, I get the GB.s but no viewing figures. So keep well and as always kind regards Ken

Hello from Ontario Canada! Thanks so very much for posting the Sandringham photos. Having viewed the buildings in black and white over many years, it is fantastic to see them in real time and real colour! Great job!

Dear Eric, you did keep your promise (mentioned in the guestbook entry at my featured album end of September, for which I thank you heartfully!) and this album is not only full of good shots, but VERY,VERY INTERESTING! I love how you tell stories in your captions! (I would make a very good listener!)It was a real pleasure to follow shot after shot and read so many things. Look forward to see more of your new albums. Best of regards from Gabriela in Japan

Hi Eric one or two pics I seem to remember somewhere, can't think where but I seem to know all the places in this marvellous album of Norfolk. It seems that The Feathers is a haunt of a few locals as well as you, Making you a fav Ken

Hello Eric. This album is definitely feature material. It is most informative and your photography is outatanding. Your opening shot is an award wining pic. Those colours and the composition are faultless. Yes, I have really enjoyed the history lesson. I am also here to say thank you for signing my feature gb. I appreciate and value your support. Yep, as you pointed out, not many trees were chosen, but that's probably because I don't have many to choose from, lol. It came as an unexpected surprise and I have everyone who took part to thank especialy, because without your choices there would have been no album. So, thank you again. You have soooo many feature worthy albums. It has to be YOUR turn soon, I hope. Have a good week. Cheers, Jayne xx
