Photos from the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln's visit to Sasebo Naval Base, Japan. I covered the ship's port visit in Sasebo along with my photographer colleague Greg "Cactus" Davis, who shot these photos.

hello abraham lincoln!!!!!i would like to make eveyone smile and bring you some comfort.but can't do that i like to make you smile more.my son is aboard you great ship.find out for yourself those who read this should know that around thanksgiving i sent him a large cookie can(homemade)anyway i surely hope that all of you are well and doing great.i know alot of you are homesick and want to come home.so do i want that too.i told my son that i have him in my heart and on my mind.let me tell you all are there.i pray for all to come home soon.those who would like to email me may and can.so to my son AO3 william english a great big hey!!!!miss ya!<bobbi7660@hotm ail.com> take care all warm wishes speeding homeward bound soon!!!! bobbie
