Album Description:

We drove down to the gulf coast to help out with animal rescue efforts. 9/12 thru 9/19/05 It was an incredible experience, despite the miserably hot & humid working conditions in an encampment in a field in Mississippi summertime.

  • Evelyn, We have been searching for Milo, a white male jack russell terrier who was lost in Katrina. Some thought that he might have been the white dog in a picture at this link which I was told was taken at Toytown in Tylertown: http://www.petroglyphsnm.org/covers/katrina3.html This looks quite a lot like the picture in your album titled Small dog pen. Do you recognize this picture and the white dog? Thanks for any help you might be able to share.

  • Mark - we're sure glad we ran into you in Jackson, and that you told us about Tylertown - this entire experience has been so incredible!!! I can't believe that now there's another Hurricane Rita - causing more wind damage and more flooding in the same places that Katrina did - I'm sooo worried about everyone there, and all the animals surviving ANOTHER onslaught.

  • Hello Evelyn. This is Mark from Phoenix. Great job on posting your great pictures. I enjoyed seeing them. It was great meeting and getting to know you. What a great experience it all was. I'm in Dallas resting up for my drive back to Phoenix. But I'm wondering if I should go back to Tylertown because Rita is going to rain on them and I think many of the volunteers are leaving. Take care.
