• Anyone who supports Cindy Sheehan hasn't really heard her hate America speech. This is the woman that said America is not worth saving.

 • I have to agree with Peter in Western Australia who said: Can anyone look at any of these, put their hand on their hearts and say, "WOW, what a beautiful photo" Isn't this what it's all about?
I can see no reason for the pictures being featured, they are hardly of high quality.
Another poster put it quite well: I Thought this was a site for Photographs, not political albums"

 • It really grieves me to see our Webshots community divided like this, especially as there is no need for it. We are not debating the rights and wrongs of a situation we are discussing the photographic merits of a subject and so many people seem to be missing this point altogether. Until recently I had always believed that, in order to score a feature, one had to submit photos of the highest standard. I imagine most Webshots members have thought the same because the quality of most people's photography has risen to amazing heights in the last year or so. This is why it is so frustrating when, for reasons known only to themselves, Webshots decide to feature albums from people who have no obvious photographic ability. This has happened quite a lot in the last few weeks and has now reached rock bottom with this album. Forget the politics of it, just tell me where I have to look to find some artistic appeal in these photos. Can anyone look at any of these, put their hand on their hearts and say, "WOW, what a beautiful photo" Isn't this what it's all about? Peter in Western Australia

 • Oh how I sometimes like to believe that these kinds of people don't really exist in the real world, but are fabrications for use in political context. I mean the divisive and negative commentary that would cast a woman who gave her son for country as anti-American, a tool of some organization, and all the other vast array of character smearing she has had to endure for exercising her First Amendment rights. And perhaps this misguided posters would prefer Webshots implement a strict censorship of material, perhaps they would prefer America in general should censor dissent and thereby become a government not unlike those we are seeking to export democracy to. Then we could invade ourselves to bring back our hard won freedoms. Webshots: Thanks for acting like you remember what the word "freedom" really meant to this country and embracing all views.

 • I'd like to thank Webshots for bringing this album to our attention. It don't mean you agree with the content. It means that you aren't censoring us like so many other people have done since the dawn of time.

 • I disagree with the comments that this album doesn't belong in the feature page. The album falls under the classification of "News and Events". This certainly qualifies under that heading. There is nothing special about the pictures but it is news and an event. I disagree with these protestors but support their right to protest and also the right of Webshots to feature the album. I believe Webshots will feel a backlash of subscriber dropout due to this feature choice. That is okay, another way for people to protest! Freedom is great! ..a Vietnam vet.

 • This album is not about photography BUT it is about pushing an anti-American agenda. I am extremely disappointed in Webshots. We now know where they stand politically; as an anti-America, extremely un-patriotic site. I will not be renewing this membership. And to think I actually paid to view crappy photos and people that hate my country.

 • Poor Cindy and others are so misguided...just like some of the French people that supported Hitler during WWII. These people were called traitors.

 • I think that's weird that folks are critical of your photos and their content. One kid even asked if you were gonna post photos featuring opposing views of yours... Clark-DEMOCRAT, get it? Anyways, I think you found a cool forum for your politico-photos. And admit it, you can't help but feel at least a little proud that Webshots saw fit to feature your album in the Community-thingy.

 • Thank you for featuring a photo album that speaks to an issue of great significance. I also appreciate that, by featuring this album, Webshots opened up another arena to discuss the war. The debate would be much more interesting to read, however, if those who support the war would get at least the basic facts straight. Someone needs to tell Lorrie that her assumption that Iraq was responsible for the 9/11 attacks is flat out wrong. The debate would also be more interesting without using perjorative labels like "savages" to describe all the individual human beings -- mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, babies -- who happen to have been born in Iraq. Thanks to the people who posted the album, and to all those who participated in the event. And, thanks to Webshots for featuring it -- so that more of us could enjoy it. I don't care if some shots are blurry -- they very effectively communicate the spirit of the event. Margie, Texas

 • I support Cindy Sheehan 100%. The war in Iraq has NO connection to 9/11. Osama bin Laden killed innocent americans. Not Sadam Hussein. George W will not speak to Cindy because he knows he has no answers. Angela/uk

 • I say if Cindy really did speak to the President once, she don't need to do it again. Of course, it would be a waste of time to approach the man on any issue because once he's made up his mind about something, dynamite can't even break it loose.

 • Houston, Tx.: How would you respond to Cindy Sheehan and the other family members who believe their children have been sacrificed for a lie? General Clark: I have the deepest sympathy and empathy with Cindy Sheehan. My son served in the Armed Forces and I worried about him every day. And, I carried a burden of guilt about his service, as I am sure most mothers and fathers do. Because, after all, we either encourage them, supported them, or sustained them in making this committment to their country. My prayers and condolences are with every family who has lost a loved one in Iraq or Afghanistan, or seen him or her come home forever scarred or crippled. And I thank them for their loved ones' service and for their sacrifice. And I understand the depth of their feelings I believe, because every American trusts our leaders to use our men and women in combat only, only, only as a last resort. And in Iraq, this wasn't the case. And we will probably never learn the full array of motives that lead our nation's leaders to take us to this war. I warned at the time that it was "elective"--we didn't have to do it. There wasn't an eminent threat. So why did we? Cindy Sheehan, every mother and father of our service members, and every American has a right to know. It was a strategic blunder to go there. Now America sees it in hindsight. But those in power have responsibilities to do the right thing, and when they don't they should be held accountable. Cindy is doing everything she can to hold them accountable. President Bush should talk to her and tell her the truth. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/discussion/2005/08/25/DI2005082501346.html

 • I Thought this was a sight for Photographs, not political albums, this past few months several of these albums are creeping into the featured section. They have no part in photography and if you want the Cities of the USA to be bombed as London has been carry on protesting. I just wonder how many members you have lost by putting features such as this on. a bewildered Ken from England

 • I wonder if webshots will now star feature albums by the Ku klux klan. If some one takes us inside an abortion clinic and shows us photographically how abortions are done will that be a feature also.....WEBSHOTS HAS BEEN GOING ON A DOWN HILL SPIRAL WITH WHAT IT FEATURES LATELY. Your album is pretty close to the bottom of the barrel.... As a photographer your pictures are an insult to photographers everywhere. Could it be that ROGER MOORE or some other left wing Socialist/Communist organization has bought contolling intrest in Webshots??.......IN REMBERANCE OF THE 3000 PEOPLE PEOPLE WHO DIED IN THE TRADE TOWERS...This album is an insult...IN HONOR OF THE 1800 PLUS BRAVE YOUNG SOILDERS WHO HAVE DIED IN IRAQ....fighting for your right to have the freedom to protest, this album is an insult.....CINDY SHEEHAN IS AN INSULT TO THE MEMORY OF HER BRAVE YOUNG SON WHO GAVE HIS LIFE FIGHTING FOR WHAT HE BELIEVED IN.......SHAME ON YOU ......AND SHAME ON WEBSHOTS

 • If your protest were based on "of the people, by the people" they would be meaningful. But, since the anti-Bush protest have been subverted by political and ideological organizations (i.e., MoveOn.Org) they are simply meaningless. By the way, I am a Republican who is not totally happy with the war's progress, but I have not allowed myself to become a willing tool for any organization with its own agenda.

 • If we pulled out now and Iraq fell back into the hands of another evil dictator, then the death of our dear ones would have really been for nothing. If we stay and help them become democracy, then the deaths will have meaning. By the way, nice pictures. Are you going to post pictured of the other side or ignore them?

 • I respect everyone's right to free speech. Just remember that many of the rights and the peace you enjoy now are the results of the wars we fought. As a Vietnam vet I am well aware of what disention at home can do to the morale of the troups. The problem I saw then is the same as now, both sides exagerating and telling mis-truths. I am glad we can voice our opinions against wars but I only wish there was some real honest debate about it. I respect your courage to take a stand with this album. The Truth is out there, wish it was available.....

 • You just knew that the Bushie neo-cons would crawl out of their stinky holes to attack this one. People actually have the unmitigated gall to tell Mrs. Sheehan and you why her son Casey died. These critics are the wonderful patriots who have lost nothing at all. Not one member of congess has a child in Iraq in harms' way. George bush should have the courage of his convictions and enlist his twins to go over there- then he'd have my admiration. Thanks to you and webshots for showing these pictures and don't pay any attention to the bush toadies who actually believe in this senseless carnage. Best luck to you, Henry

 • Hi! We as citizen of a country not directly concerned by the subject of this album are not entitled to take position – but what we can and want to say is underlining the excellence of the reportage, together of course with the courage of Cindy – who has the chance to live in a part of the world with relatively free expression. Needless to say that many pictures go to the heart. – With best wishes: Kaethi and Henri, from SW France

 • It's fine to see this unconventional album. A demonstration of a community in America about a seriously debated question all over the world. There seems to be a happy mood in the people. Rarely everywhere in the world a newspaper first page hasn't news on the question. I have my personal position right on this matter, but I feel I can't express it here, because it would signify to give the fire to a debate of tough political content, which I don't fear, but for which I find WS really not the right site. It would be more convenient in a blog (even a photo blog), anyway in a site with all the means to support a debate, a confrontation, even at a fast pace, if needed. And it would be great if WS had a blog section. The subject of this album would be perfect, and it had probably rich thread. Thak you! Ale :) from Italy
