  • Wonderful to see the WW2 Air Sea Rescue photos. My late father ( William "Bill" Stripp) who served RAF 1929-56 spent his last years as a Warrant Officer based at the Lyme Regis base. I will always remember the thrill of Dad taking me for a trip in Lyme Bay in 1951 and I can recall my thoughts as we wooshed along how it must have been as he and his band of brothers searched the cold waters for downed pilots in the the early 40's. Bravo for bringing so many memories back. Peter Stripp.

  • My husband, Dennis, was stationed at RAF Northwood in 1968 and made a model of HMAFV "Seal" for the then CMRO, Wg Cmdr Wevill. The original model was destroyed in a fire and Dennis was asked to make another. He has an ambition to now make a third model for his own use and your photograph of "Seal" has proved very helpful. Many thanks
