Hi! Thanks so much to everyone who gave pictures in this collection. I was searching for a picture of the interior of the old Longfellow school, but found a wealth of others!! I would be happy to send any pictures I have if you want more to add. My family lived in Morenci from 1951 until my dad had to retire from the drug store in 1979~...ETH eaglecreek51@sbcglobal

My mom grew up in Morenci. My dad moved there from Mexico and they married. I typed my dads name in on goggle and came up with this site. I am thinking how weird is this. Then I see my dad's name. His name I Gillie Ulibarri. He died October 2006. He had a lot of brothers that worked in the Morenci Mines. Ruben was one of them. I see a post on here from a (Uncle Gilbert) That is my ungest brothers name. I would love to get in touch with any one with info. My moms name is Carmen Serna. OH and by the way... I have great child hood mem of Morenci. People can not believe how the town was set up. Visiting my Grandmother was always wonderful! cmystyle@hotmail.com

Thank you so much for the montage of pictures you posted. I was born in Morenci 1943. And haven't been back, since our family left in 1958. Sure do have good memories of all my firends, neighbors, my horse king. Hope if you have more of the area you will post them. These made my heart long for the red rocks of home.

What an awesome site! So many memories racing through my head....the tortilla shop, Coronado Ele (when we used to watch the HS kids from our playground during lunch recess when they were behind the auditorium hanging out), mine blasts, The Hill, etc. It's just a shame we can never go back to visit. These pictures and others like them need to be available for purchase!!! Robert Chilicky

Thank you for sharing the beautiful memories of Morenci. My grandmother who was born and raised here will love the photos. Can you help me determine where dwelling AC162 is? North or South side? Which photo best displays the hillside?

Thanks for this great photo collection of our ole home town. The Royal Theater, where we all at one time hear that famous statement, " Lights Paul!" When the kids got a bit too noisy or rowdy on Saturdays the manager would have the mysterious Paul turn on the lights and give us a stern warning. Lots of good memories around that old theater and the adjacent areas. If life was once again so simple..., or was it truly the way we remember through the eyes of a child or a young hopeful teenager. Thanks for the memories and great pictures. Jimmy D. Goodrum (Class of '59)

Yes, keep the Old Morenci photos coming. I've enjoyed looking at them. Brings back memories of my childhood. Jeannie might have some Morenci photos. Mom gave her a whole bunch of them. Or maybe Rachel could have some. I'll ask them next time I see them,ok? Love....Mom
