    • Built with mans bare hands, these structures from an age long since gone, almost refuse to die, as if they pine for those guys that worked in them. well photographed, and enjoyed my me. brian (england)

    • My grandfather and father were both tobacco farmers in eastern NC. From well before dawn to late in the day, and everything in between are all part on the memories that these simple, yet historic structures bring to my memory. Thanks for the memory.

    • My grandfather was a tobacco farmer. I spent many summers riding with him to market in Wilson, NC. My architectural education has helped me realize the simple aesthetic beauty of the tobacco barn. I am trying to explore the building type more but have found little leads regarding it's manifestation and growth as a fixture on the NC landscape. Thank you for posting these images.

    • Loved the tobacco barns. I grew up in eastern NC, but I no longer live in God's Country. The tobacco barns took me back to the old days. Thanks for posting them.

    • Hi, congratulations on being featured today! Great pictures, thanks for sharing! I took some similar ones down here in the South East of Georgia, in fact, my husband has a lot of his tools stored in one of them. You can look at it in one of my albums. Have a great day! Sincerely Kadee
