Visited Church St James last friday 5/8/05 my great grandfather Thomas Ayliff married Emily Alexander there 21/02/1852 .We thought it and the whole area wonderfully tranquil and thought provoking.Thanks for the photos.

great to see the photos .i found that part of my family originated from upper wield and they made it all seem real for me --thomas westbrook 24.11.1806 was my ggg granddad --james westbrook 1840 (gg grandad -- arthur 1871 moved to croydon as did other siblins and had elsie edith my grand mother.

What a lovely surprise to come across these photos of the area I grew up in. The Yew Tree at Lower Wield was once owned by my Grand-Parents. Now living in the USA, I got 'warm fuzzies' seeing these.
