    • Hi Gail, I have my great grandmothers i.d. card from the Jeff Depot in 1917. I can't tell if she is in the photo. She was Lettisha Dixon. She and my grandmother both worked there. Carol crreynold@aol.com

    • Hi Gail, My email is char62753@aol.com. I'd love to hear from you about the picture. Do you know someone in the photo? I'm interested in knowing more about it. Several years ago I had open heart surgery to repair a valve. I had my attorney put in my will it was to be donated to the library if I passed. Hope to hear from you. And I did find that on the 0027 photo my grandmother is right up front in the middle. Charlotte

    • Dear Gail, Forgot to add you can see my grandmother best in photo 7. The oldest pictures I have identified in my collection date back to Edith's grandparents, Solomon Firster and Rebecca Mumford, both born in 1829. Charlotte Charlotte

    • Dear Gail, I have this very picture! My father, Charles F. Davis found this very picture rolled up in my great-grandmother's things in California. He took the picture and had it framed. My dad mailed me the picture from California back to Jeffersonville around 1980. My great-grandmother is the third pretty lady on the left in the very first roll. Her name was Edith Mae Firster born Nov. 16, 1883. She married Harry Arnold Young March 11, 1900 in New Albany. Harry was stepped on by a horse in the Spanish American War, contacted TB and Grandma had to go to work. Harry died April 28, 1913. Her parents helped her to raise her two children. She was a supervisor and very talented seamstress. She was the daughter of James Beaty Firster and Louella Virginia Bates who came to New Albany shortly after her birth to work for the railroad. Grandma was 94 when she passed away. My picture is in perfect shape. I have many photos of ancestors. I've done genealogy for years. Harry Arnold Young's mother was Nancy Elizabeth Jacobs, descendant of Jeremiah Jacobs of the American Revolution. It was so good to see someone else has this photo. I imagine many were destoyed in the flood. Hope others will sign your guestbook. Charlotte Davis Jeffersonville, Indiana
