I was out of state at this time in the service, but remember dad sayiing I should be glad I didn't come home that weekend. I heard the city refused the Navys offer to help with plowing even though the city trucks were stuck in the roads. Those were the good years.

after viewing the hiking pix, i decided to revisit the blizzard....we were living "away" in '52 but came to ME to visit my grandparents and were here when the storm did its thing...i remember stepping out of a second story window and onto a snowbank...horses and carts took over grocery deliveries while the streets were impassable to cars...great fun for a kid of 9...we were lucky to have had the opera house experiences (regardless of what they were)....those theaters were national treasures and most of them are gone now....M.

Hi..For those of you who happen across this page, I am Paul Hutchins (mountainmaster1)...I graduated from Morse High in 1961, and I now live in Laguna Woods, California. I started this page for my friends and family. It is much easier for everyone, including myself, to post pics to this page rather than sending MEG heavy e-mails and holding up everyone's computer who does not have a high-speed internet connection. No, Dottie Marks Burns is not related. Her dad and her brother were both mates of mine in the Buccaneers Senior Drum and Bugle Corps back in the 50's and 60's, and these photos are actually Dottie's. She sent them to me a while ago. Thank you for visiting.
