  • I had the great privilege of meeting Lt. Finn at his home in 1962. He was a neighbor of the young man I was dating at the time. We went to see if John had a part he was in need of for his fathers tractor. While they were in the barn John's wife taught me how to churn butter,it was a day that I have never forgotten. At the tender age of 20 both John and his wife were incredible people to meet and left a lasting impression on me. Deryl Morgan

  • Good afternnon everyone on this site. I have been looking at these photos and have been thinking about using them to honor John. His 100th is around the corner and I didnt want to get in trouble for using photos that dont belong to me. Is it ok for me to do that? I am an Aviation Ordnanceman and also the president of San Diego's Chapter 8 and planning on celebrating his birthday here in California. I need ideas of how to make this big with out really publicizing the event....eventhough in my eyes he is very special.

  • Frank, It is so good to know that someone is keeping Uncle John in their heart. My name is Dan Walter. Johns brother Louis was my grandfather. I am still in the Navy and Uncle John has definately been an inspiration to me. I am currently serving on the USS Michigan (SSGN-727) in Bremerton Washington.
