Medal Of Honor, LT John W. Finn, USN (Ret.), America's Oldest Living Medal of Honor Recipient

Welcome. I am Frank Ereneta (screen name: TetVet68) of San Diego, California. My father is "Navy Centenarian Sailor", former Aviation Chief Radioman (ACRM Combat Aircrewman), Chief Warrant Officer Julio "Jay" Ereneta, Naval Flight Officer, Radio Electronics, Aviation, USN (Ret.), active duty; 18 February 1919 to 1 May 1949. It is our honor and privilege to visit and speak often with our friend and shipmate, America's oldest living Medal of Honor recipient, former Aviation Chief Ordnanceman (ACOM), LT John W. Finn, USN (Ret.), active duty: July 1926 to March 1947. Finn is also the last surviving Medal of Honor recipient, "The Day of Infamy", Japanese Attack, Naval Air Station, Kaneohe Bay, Oahu, Territory of Hawaii, 7 December 1941. CWO Ereneta and LT Finn served as enlisted ratings in the 1920s/1930s on China Station/Yangtze Patrol and in the air squadrons of aircraft carriers, USS LANGLEY (CV-1), USS LEXINGTON (CV-2), and USS SARATOGA (CV-3). Frank, It is so good to know that someone is keeping Uncle John in their heart. My name is Dan Walter. Johns brother Louis was my grandfather. I am still in the Navy and Uncle John has definately been an inspiration to me. I am currently serving on the USS Michigan (SSGN-727) in Bremerton Washington. If you know of any events that will bring Uncle John into the area, I would sure like to know about them.
